Little Priory
SR Architects were asked to see whether there was any scope of securing planning permission for a new build house on some excess land to the rear of our clients current property. The site was heavily wooded, steeply sloping and in the sensitive and leafy Bathwick Hill Conservation Area. We devised a carefully crafted plan form and massing which blended into the bank whilst still allowing views to be maintained from the surrounding houses. Planning was achieved and given the location and interest in the rarity of being able to construct a rigorously modern property so close to the historic centre of Bath, the site was secured by a developer.
The project was later modified by the developer and constructed in 2017.
