SR Architects secured Listed Buildings planning consent for the refurbishment of a 2-bedroom garden flat in Bath.
The clients wished to create an attractive 2 level flat out of 2 floors of the partially coverted space in the lower ground levels of this townhouse to take advantage of the long rear garden onto which the space opened.
In order to satisfy planning conditions, much effort was taken to retain the orginal detail character of the exterior whilst suggesting a more modern chararcter within that was still respectful of the classic Georgian period of the property. The interior space was fully refurbished with new bedrooms and ensuite accommodation created within vaults at the lowest level, a new stair connecting interior levels, and a new character metal stair from the street level down to the flat entrance. The rear garden was also fully refurbished.
Construction of the project was completed in 2010.
